Discover the magic of K-beauty: Simplicity and prevention

The secret of Korean beauty

K-beauty, synonymous with perfect skin care, draws on millennia-old traditions and combines them with the latest technologies. The new sheet masks from our Korean Edition will transport you to the world of effective and simple skin care, where prevention is the key to a healthy and youthful appearance.

In the last decade, Korean cosmetics have become a global phenomenon, mainly thanks to products such as BB creams or sheet masks. Korean beauty and skincare have deep roots in history, with the extensive use of medicinal herbs and natural ingredients. This tradition dates back to the Three Kingdoms period, when natural ingredients played a major role in beauty routines. Women used ingredients that were commonly available to them, such as rice and wheat. The ideal of beauty then became established in the Joseon era, which lasted from the 14th to the 19th centuries.

The Basic Pillars of Korean Cosmetics

  • Simplicity and Effectiveness – Focuses on simple yet effective formulas and ingredients.
  • Prevention – Skin care should be a daily routine that can prevent later problems.
  • Technology – Combining traditional practices with modern technologies which helps the products become more effective.
  • Variety - In the world of Korean cosmetics, you can find a huge number of products and brands that are innovative and constantly try to impress their customers with something new.
  • Luxury ingredients - No cosmetics can match the Korean competition in the use of unconventional and luxurious ingredients. Korean cosmetics like to use snail secretion, bee venom, real gold, collagen or ginseng.

Face masks across history and cultures

The most popular helper in skin care was and is face masks. Even the latest products have their own predecessors.

  • In Korea, in the past, women relied on the effects of honey or mugwort.
  • In ancient Egypt, clay or, for example, crocodile fat was most often used to cleanse the skin, which was supposedly supposed to ensure a better appearance of the skin.
  • In imperial China, ingredients such as rice water or ground mung beans were used in skin care.
  • In traditional Indian medicine, Ayurveda, they then relied on turmeric and coconut oil.

Sheet Masks - a revolution in Skin Care

What is a sheet mask?

It is a mask made of a thin sheet (here we can choose from various materials such as cellulose or rayon), which is saturated with essence or serum and applied directly to the face. The sheet helps to retain the serum on the face, which allows for better absorption of active ingredients. The aforementioned essences are often enriched with vitamins, antioxidants and other active ingredients. These masks are characterised by intensive hydration and nutrition of the skin.

What is a sheet mask made of?

1. Carrier medium: Innovative material. The carrier medium forms the basis of the mask - it is a thin layer of fabric that is saturated with a caring serum. It is most often made from materials such as rayon (viscose), cellulose, or even biodegradable fibres. These materials are designed to fit perfectly on the skin and ensure even application of active ingredients.

  • Absorption and transfer: The carrier medium effectively holds the serum and ensures its gradual release into the skin.
  • Adaptability: The material easily adapts to the contours of the face, ensuring better coverage even in hard-to-reach areas.
  • Gentleness: Modern sheet masks are hypoallergenic and environmentally friendly, which is appreciated even by users with sensitive skin.

2. The heart of the mask - serum or emulsion
The second part is the effective serum or emulsion that is saturated in the sheet. These formulations are designed to address a variety of skin needs, from hydration to rejuvenation.

  • Hydration and nutrition: The essence contains active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, glycerin, vitamins, and plant extracts that penetrate deep into the skin.
  • Healing ingredients: Ingredients such as aloe vera, collagen, or niacinamide bring skin comfort, elasticity, and radiance.
  • Antioxidant protection: Natural extracts protect the skin from free radicals and support regeneration.

TIP: Did you know that....?

Application is very simple: spread the mask evenly on cleansed skin, avoiding the eyes and mouth area. Leave on for 10-15 minutes. Then remove the mask and gently massage in the remaining essence. The mask is for single use, but the effect and care it gives your skin will last for several days, along with the good feeling of hydrated or nourished skin.

Why is a sheet mask so unique?!

The combination of a carrier medium and a serum is revolutionising skin care. Sheet masks provide:

  1. Specific care: Each mask is designed for a specific skin issue.
  2. Easy to use: Just apply and relax - no complicated rinsing required.
  3. Intensive results: The sheet keeps the serum on the skin longer, which increases the absorption of active ingredients.

Add this cutting-edge technology to your beauty routine and enjoy professional care from the comfort of your home!
